In Scott Russell Sanders' essay "The men we carry in our minds", Anneke, she says that she thinks it's a lot harder for men as women are inspired and excited, whereas men are "eaten up with guilt", this is ironic as she is meaning that men are less inspired by their lives compared to women, as men don't have as much purpose anymore.Hope this helps.
