Vertical conflicts in distribution channels are conflicts that occur between different levels of the same channel.
If you think about vertical hierarchy, it will refer to the relationship between someone of a higher social status (let's say, your employer), and someone of a lower social status (for example, the employee). On the other hand, horizontal would refer to people of the same status. In the example above, vertical also refers to different layers or levels, but those that belong to the same organization.
