The injuries and the usurpation described in this quote are the colonists' RIGHTS, which had not been respected at all.  During the time the Americans were under the rule of Britain, the king of Britain kept making laws which were not favorable to the colonists at all and he did not allow them to have any say in the matters that concerned them. This made the colonists to decide that they are going to severe their relationship with Great Britain.
