The War Shifts to the Middle States

The French helped the patriots secretly they didn’t have an opened ally but they send ships with ammunitions and weapons. Through this battle they were French Aristocrats for example: Marquis de Lafayette he was the one that trained the Continental Army. After Saratoga the French risk and opened an alliance with the United States. In February 1778 the alliance went to the delegation with a men called Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin came as a humble American that loved the French. With this they were convinced and create the alliance. But the French and the Patriots failed. But in 1781 they became better, in 1779 the Spanish joined as an ally with the French. The Louisiana Governor Bernardo de Gálvez he provided money and supplies to the Patriots, he also blocked the entrance of the Mississippi River to avoid the British sent ammunitions to the Indians in the back country.

The Continental Army Faces Challenges

In Pennsylvania Gorge Washington army passed a very harsh winter in 1777-1778 in Valley Forge, this people didn’t have nothing to eat or a coat, they had no supplies. Washington reported that 1/3 (10,000) had no coats nor shoes and that he needed help. He said that if he didn’t have any help he will let the army free or disperse. On December 23 1777 Baron Von Steuben trained the army because they didn’t have discipline and they were disorganized. In able to survive in June 1778 the British abandoned Philadelphia to move to New York. On their way they fought in Monmouth with the Patriots. The Continental Soldiers proved their new discipline and they were more prepared. The British capture Boston and Philadelphia but they were loosing, so the British turned the battle to the south.

The Frontier War

Proclamation of 1763 it was sent by the king warning the colonists to stay away from the Appalachians Mountains. In 1770 the colonists settle in the Mountains, and there was a war between them. So this let the settlers to claimed for more land.

Native Americans Supported the British

In 1777 the Indians attacks increased and became worst. By this time the Lexington war had already began.
