Generally speaking, the language officially used in taxonomy is "Latin," due mostly to the fact that many of the original names for specific organisms have Latin origins.

The correct answer is - Latin.

The Latin language is the one used in taxonomy. Even though we are speaking about a language that is dead for centuries and is not spoken anywhere in the world, it is still a language of great importance, especially in the sciences. The reason that the Latin has the privilege of being the language used in taxonomy is mainly because it is the language in which the first names and descriptions were given, so it seemed logical that it is continued in that manner instead of changing everything, and plus it is not a language of any particular modern nation which makes it universal.
