Here is something to know:
From the vertex to the center of the triangle is 2/3 of the line, and the center point to the opposite side is 1/3 of the line.
Basically, we can say that GD is half of CG.
6.5/2= 3x-11
Multiply both sides by 2.
6.5= 6x-22
Add 22 on both sides.
28.5= 6x
Divide both sides by 6.
x=4.75 <== the value of x
We can check this by seeing if it makes sense with the equations given,
DG= 3x-11
3(4.75)-11
14.25-11
DG= 3.25
If you divide 6.5/2= 3.25, so this makes the value for x correct.
