These types of authorities were theorized by Weber, and they refer to the different kind of authority (who has the power that people are following). Queen Elisabeth of England is associated with a traditional authority because her power comes from a long tradition. Adolf Hilter is associated with a Charismatic Authority because is based on the personal charisma of the leader. George W. Bush is associated with a legal-Rational Authority because as president his authority is not about him as a person, but as the position he occupied when he was president of the US.
