On August 19, 1791, Benjamin Banneker sends a letter to Thomas Jefferson in which he says that both black and white people are made by the same creator and have the same intelligence, and sentiments. In this way, he is addressing some ideas of the time which stated that white people were more intelligent than black people and had different feelings.
