Amish people are generally modest, conservative, hardworking, and devout people. They deny worldly things and live the simplest lives. They tend to avoid using newly innovated things, including phones, cars, TV, along with electricity. They also don't watch movies, use beauty products, and engage with leisure activities. They strictly follow the rules of their tradition. They believe that one must stay clean and pure, away from the world's bad influences. If a person violates one of their rules, he or she is shunned.
