I'm REALLY bad at math and I would appreciate it SO MUCH if I got some help!

Solve 5 ( m + 5 ) < 5m + 17 and 1 - 8s < -4 (2s - 1 )

Respuesta :

1.
5( m + 5 )< 5m+ 17

The first step is to multiply 5 by everything inside the parenthesis
        5 x M = 5m and 5 x 5 =25 giving you-
5m + 25 < 5m + 17
Now we need to move the "5m" on the left side to the other side.
        5m - 5m = 0 giving you
25 < 17
Now we will set it equal (or less than) to zero
To do so you will subtract 25 from both sides giving you
0 < -8 or No Solutions

2.
1 - 8s < -4 (2s - 1 )
The first step is to multiply -4 by everything inside the parenthesis
         -4 x 2s = -8s and -4 x -1 = 4 giving you
1 - 8s < -8s + 4
No we need to move the -8s to one side
Add an 8s to both sides giving you
1 < 4
Set the equation equal to zero
Subtract a 1 from both sides giving you
0 < 3 or No Solutions

Hope This Helps!
