Yes, it is very possible to use a type writer! Typewriters are still a thing today for many writers. Some will type up their book on a typewriter, and then copy it because they like the older look. Typewriters are usually not made anymore, and it may be hard to identify the keys. But, they are definitely possible to use and are still out there for purchase.
