Respuesta :

each plant costs $15.99

each bag of soil costs $12.54

so, for 1 plant is 1*15.99, for 2 plants is 2*15.99, for 3 plants is 3*15.99, for "x" plants is x*15.99 or 15.99x.

for 1 bag is 1*12.54, for 2 bags is 2*12.54, for 3 bags is 3*12.54, for "y" bags is y*12.54, or 12.54y.

whatever their sum is, namely 15.99x + 12.54y, it has to be either, 125 flat, or less, because if the price for the plants and bags is more than 125 and you hand the cashier the 125, then the cashier will tell you to hit the road and let the dobermans loose on you.

so, there, 15.99x + 12.54y has to be "less than or equals to" 125.

15.99x + 12.54y ⩽ 125.
