China's Commercial Revolition during the ninth and fourteenth century allowed China to expand iron and steel products. During the Song dynasty, the south became a popular location for agriculture. In demand for iron and steel tools for agriculture, many other Chinese also used this material for iron armor and weapons, buildings, and bridges. Even Buddhist pagodas were built from iron.
The factors that caused China to expand the industrial production of iron and steel were expansion in production of Textiles and Porcelains to export as Luxury Goods.
