i need help with two math problems.

Question 1- Given the quadratic function f(x)=x^2+1, find the value of (2). Make sure to show all work! The answer is f(2)=5 but i need to know how to show the work!

Question 2- Find f(3) when f(x)=x^2-3x^2+2. Make sure to show all your work!
The answer is f(3)=-16 I need to know how to show the work!

Question 1) :  The answer is:  " f(2) = 5 " .
___________________________________________
Given the quadratic function:
___________________________________________
   " f(x) = x² + 1 "  ;
___________________________________________
FInd the value of:  " f(2) " ;  that is, when "x = 2" ; what is the resulting value?

So, replace all values of "x" in the function with "2" ; and solve to find the "output" ;

    f(2) = (2)² + 1  = (2 * 2)  +  1  =  4 + 1 = 5  .

The answer:  f(2) = 5 .

Question 2):
_____________________________________
Given:  " f(x)  =  x² −  3x² + 2 " ;   Find:  "f(3)" ;  that is, when "x = 3" ; what is the resulting value?

So;  replace all values of "x" in the function with "3" ; and solve to find the "output" ;

     f(3) = (3)² − 3(3²) + 2 ;

            = 9 − (3)(9) + 2 ;

            = 9 − 27 + 2 ;

            = (9 − 27) + 2 ;

            =  - 18 + 2 ;

            =  -16 .

The answer is:   f(3) = - 16 .
