Weathering is process in which the rock breaks down into due to physical and chemical processes. It leads to wearing and tearing in the rocks. Weathering can be of three types physical weathering, chemical weathering and biological weathering.
Thermal stress weathering or insolation weathering occurs in places where there is a large change in daily temperatures. It causes the peeling off of the outer layer of the rocks.
