That is true that not everyone was happy by the
Renaissance. Those who resisted the new ideas include the famous Medici Dynasty
trying to gain power and overthrow the government. Those who were the citizens
of Florence used to finance the Church in return for a promise to have lesser
time spent in purgatory. The Church guaranteed this and people gave them the
money. The idea started changing making it difficult for certain people and
some were outraged by that.
