The first one is 29/18. The way you do these is to get rid of the denominators in each fraction by finding the LCM and cancelling them out. If you factor out a 3 in the denoinator of the first fraction, you have 3(x-2), and (x-2) is the denoinator in the second fraction. So you multiply both fractions and the 12 on the other side by 3(x-2) and cancel out between each what is common. The whole thing cancels in the first fraction, leaving only a 1. In the second fraction you're canceling out only the x-2, leaving 3 times 5, and on the other side you have 12 times 3(x-2). Simplifying all of that gives you in the end, right before you simplify, 1-15=36x-72. Now simplify to get -36x=-58 and x=29/18
