The process of the secure border would be a waste to government resources.It would also not stop a family that want to get over.They could simply climb over.There is no point of building something that won't even stop others from coming in.A reason that they want the build the border is to keep drug dealers from Mexico away.It is a major hot spot for selling drugs.Of course that is not the main reason.Hope this help.
