A piece of news is information that was not known before it was made explicit (manifested). It is the narration of events (novel) that interest the largest number of readers with or without connection to such events.
The media that broadcasts a story uses a set of criteria, operations and instruments to choose from a myriad of facts a limited amount of news. It is based on the news-values that are criteria and operations used to define which events are significant and interesting to be transformed into news.
Therefore the news entities, communicate the events, and give an opinion on them, in some cases open discussions and allow the interaction of very different opinions on the same topic.
