Abby ran 3 times as many laps as Karen. Adding 4 th the number of laps Abby ran and then dividing by 7 gives the number of laps Jill ran. Jill ran 1 lap. How many laps did Karen run?

We have to work backwards for this question.
1 lap multiplied by 7 and then minus four to it in order to obtain the number of laps that Abby ran:
1 X 7=7
7-4=3
Since Karen ran 1/3 the number of laps that Abby ran.
3/3=1
Therefore, Karen ran 1 lap just like Jill.
