Sertoli is the name given to the cell population at the seminiferous tubules that reacts to FSH by generating abp (antigen-binding proteins).
A complex stratified epithelium that lines the seminiferous tubules is made up of two separate cell populations: Sertoli cells, which serve as a support and nutrient source, and spermatogonia cells, which grow into spermatozoa.
Each testicle contains about 800 seminiferous tubules, where meiosis and subsequent spermatozoa formation take place. These tubules produce thousands of sperm each second in an adult guy.
