Reliability tend to refer to how dependably or consistently a test tend to measure a characteristic. So, here if a person takes the test again, will he or she get a similar test score, or a much different score.
However, a test which yields similar scores for a person who repeats the test is said to measure a characteristic reliably. So, in science, it is important that every time we administer a test, the test-taker will achieve the same or nearly the similar results.
Hence, the degree to which the test scores are unaffected by the measurement errors is said to be an indication of the reliability of the test.
