The obstacles to critical thinking involve too much deliberation and struggling distractions. Social conditioning creates barriers to critical thinking by causing us to stereotype the objects and people around us and to make unwarranted assumptions. This makes it challenging for others around us to function at work.

To get over this tendency and barrier, cultural and social awareness is necessary. They significantly hinder critical thinking because they obscure justice and open-mindedness. One illustration is refusing to hire someone because to their ethnicity, age, preferred religion, or perceived attitude.

By taking their biases as gospel, the hiring person avoids exercising critical thought. They don't take into account the opinions and ideas of others. In some cases, they might not even be conscious of what they're doing.
