Athens and Sparta were the two most famous and powerful city states in Ancient Greece. However, Sparta and Athens were quite different from each other in many ways, for example, by their values, politics, and societies. In Athens, the system of the ruling was a democracy which means a system of government. Whereas, in Sparta, the ruling system was oligarchy which means a small group of people having control of a country. The Athenians gave importance to music and art while the Spartans gave importance to fitness and bravery to build a strong army. As compared to Athens, the life in Sparta was harsh and uncomfortable.
