 $10-$3.25=$6.75
Nora used $6.75 for buying meat
11/2=5.5 pounds 

$6.75-$0.96=$5.79
nora spent $5.79 for the meat
 $5.79---------->5.5 pounds 
  ?--------------- 1 pound

$5.79 / 5.5 =$ 1.05
the price of the meat was $ 1.05 per pound
