Where [tex]b[/tex] is the base and [tex]h[/tex] is the height.

So we plug in the numbers:

[tex]A_{triangle}=\frac{1}{2}*\frac{1}{4}*\frac{1}{3} = 0.04in^{2}[/tex]

Remember:  the measurements are in inches (4x3) and not feet.  So the real measurements are [tex]\frac{4}{12} = \frac{1}{3}[/tex] and [tex]\frac{3}{12} = \frac{1}{4}[/tex]!
