The policy of The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was the Vietnam policy which came first in the Johnson administration.
The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution came into force on August 10th, 1964, after the Gulf of Tonkin incident on August 2nd, 1964 by President Lyndon Johnson.
This policy marked a major landmark in American history, as it provided authority to President Johnson to declare war without any consent from Congress, for the use of standard military dominance in the Southeastern part of Asia. After the enactment of this Vietnam policy, the state was in a full war with Vietnam over the spreading influence of communism in the region. It was unacceptable to the left bloc.
