The inca adapted to their mountain environment by using terraces.
The Inca empire was noted for several technological advances that allowed it to adapt to the difficult geographical conditions of the Andes mountain range, the Amazon jungle, and the desert of southern America.
The Andes mountain range was the central point of the Inca empire, there they developed the technique of cultivation terraces to be able to plant their food in mountains with very steep slopes. On the other hand, this technique allowed them to develop different crops since different products can be sown at different heights, making their diet very varied.
On the other hand, in the Nazca desert, they developed a system of underground aqueducts that allowed them to supply water to some areas of the desert to grow crops in it. This system of aqueducts took advantage of the underground waters of this land.
