This exercise describes the key differences between some of the dramas/plays that I have studied.
What are the differences?
One of the key differences between Sitcom (a screen play) and other kinds of drama are:
Because Sitcom is a screen play, it:
- Goes through many parts and could even change during the film making process
- It can run between 80 to 120 pages
- Usually contains Scene Headings, Characters, Dialogues and Action
- One page is usually one minutes of Screen time.
Teleplay on the other hand is:
- mainly used for television shows
- spaced out much more than a screen play
- contains personal directions in the dialogue for those acting etc.
