Children have difficulty in dissipating heat and maintaining a normal body temperature during exercise than adults because their sweat glands are less active.

The sweat glands of children are less active than those of adults. It takes 2 years after birth for the maturation of sweat glands.

Heat is dissipated in the form of sweat. Sweating helps in cooling down and the sweat comes out from the sweat glands present on the skin.

Although children contain more sweat glands than adults, their sweat glands are not much active. Due to this reason they do not produce much sweat and hence have difficulty in dissipating heat and maintaining a normal body temperature.
