Congratulations! You have been gifted $5000 to open an ice cream shop. You have a location and product supplier picked out. Now it is time to work on the details for your cost and the cost to customers. Once you have completed your research, create a sign board of your ice cream flavors and options with prices.
Directions
You have to make some decisions to determine the best options for your ice cream scoop, bowl sizes, and cone sizes. You will use your knowledge of volume of cones, cylinders, and spheres to help you make your decision. A report for your benefactor will be provided to explain your choices. You can use the Sample Report attached in this assignment to help you put your report together.
Your report should have 5 sections:
Ice Cream Scoop Choice including:
Volume of the scoop (round to the nearest tenth)
Cost for you per scoop (round to the nearest penny)
Brief explanation of why you chose the scoop. Be sure to use complete sentences.
Ice Cream Bowl Choice including:
Volume of the bowl (round to the nearest tenth)
Total number of scoops that can fit in the bowl (round to the nearest whole number)
Brief explanation of why you chose the bowl. Be sure to use complete sentences.
Ice Cream Sugar Cone Choice including:
Volume of the cone (round to the nearest tenth)
Total number of scoops that could fit in the cone (round to the nearest whole number)
Brief explanation of why you chose the sugar cone
Ice Cream Waffle Cone Choice including:
Volume of the cone (round to the nearest tenth)
Total number of scoops that could fit in the cone (round to the nearest whole number)
Brief explanation of why you chose the waffle cone
Cost to Customers
For this section you will figure your cost for each of the options and then add 40% to the customer cost. You should include the following options:
Single scoop for bowl, sugar cone, & waffle cone: Be sure to give your cost and the customer cost. (Round to the nearest penny.)
Double scoop for bowl, sugar cone, & waffle cone: Be sure to give your cost and the customer cost. (Round to the nearest penny.)

Ice Cream Scoop Choices
Scoop 1: diameter = 3 cm
Scoop 2: diameter = 4 cm
Assume all scoops result in spheres of ice cream.
Ice Cream Bowl Choices
Bowl 1: diameter = 8 cm, height = 5 cm
Bowl 2: diameter = 10 cm, height = 6 cm
The cost for either bowl choice is $0.25 each.
