I am the immune system. I help fight off viruses and bacteria from living things. Also known as microbes! The main parts of my immune system are white blood cells, antibodies, the spleen, the thymus, the bone marrow, The complement system, and The lymphatic system. When I try to explain what an immune system is, I think of swiss cheese! Yum. There are about three levels to an my system. There's innate, which everyone is born with. There's adaptive, which you can develop throughout life, and passive, which is a borrowed source. So anyway, there are multiple layers of the my immune system. Like layers of cheese. And like swiss cheese, there are holes in random places. And those holes don't always line up, which makes it harder for viruses and bacteria to get through. But when a body doesn't get enough rest, or nutrients, it makes it harder to fight those microbes off! So then there are like, bigger holes, like they line up more, and so it's not as hard for microbes to get in.
Infection affects the body system because there are viruses, bacteria, microbes in your body. Especially if you don't get enough rest or whatever your body needs, it makes it all the harder for your immune system to fight it off. Because of the microbes, your body is now infected with bacteria and things that can hurt you. This can cause stuff such as constipation, vomiting, runny nose, headache/migrane, diarreah, dehydration, fatigue etc. Which is why, we have doctors and trained specialists for medicine and cures to help our immune system, give it a little boost.
