ELEGY FOR MARY
Since yesterda when Mary died
None of her friends have said a word
While all their mothers have cried cod
For she came to was a bluehind
In Manche. Dry-eyed they sat in Church
Boys and Gids who really know her,
Mary's crowd left in the way
They see no cause to rue her.
Away from Mary's grave taey walk
Boys who kissed her in the pack
Girls who knew too much to gauk at Mary lingering in the dark
