C. Tropical rain forest
- When there is a lot of moisture in the air and lots of biodiversity, but the soil is thin and lacking nutrients, this biome is a condition for tropical rain forest.
- The air beneath is almost always humid.
- The trees themselves give off water through the pores (stomata) of their leaves.
- Tropical rainforests are lush and warm all year long! Temperatures don't even change much between night and day.
- The soils in this biome are very old and low in fertility, but since there is a dry season, more of the nutrients can stay in place.
- In the tropical rainforest, however, rainfall is year round, and can be daily. This strips out most of the nutrients.
