Labor unions in the United States have changed work conditions for the better by putting workers lives first before production values. During the industrial revolution workers were forced to work in inhumane conditions for extended hours for low pay, not to mention safety laws were not in effect to protect these workers from injury or death. Many people were worked to the bone or even killed before labor unions were put into place. However labor unions now ensure safety of the working class before production by putting into effect many laws that workplaces must follow, like a minimum lunch break time, and minimum wage. Both of these are still in effect today, making work places more enjoyable. Because of labor unions affects on workers and the workplace, workers are now safer and happier in their work place.
