Explain whether or not the excerpt from the poem, “The White Man’s Burden,” (found below) by Rudyard Kipling, was for imperialism or not. It may help to research what the burden of white people was according to Kipling (Hint: it is very racist).

It was for imperialism because it was an appeal to US men to join British forces in global imperial ventures. Kipling defined imperialism as worthy and a necessity, though it was fairly difficult. He shamed American men as they should take up that duty so that they could receive their “honor” and “wisdom”.
White Mans burden is pro imperialism because through imperialism, whites would be able to conquer uncivilized people and educate them to make their societies better. It is considered a burden because the job to make these people and cultures better solely belongs to white people.
