You could have more men join. previously there were more restrictions such as your age ,and younger people were told that the war would be like an adventure so they joined.

The Advantages of recruiting young men to fight in WW1 is that it provides energy and speed as well as creates experienced future Generals.

Although the danger to life and trauma which War creates can affect young men far greater than others. But from the perspective of Millitary Forces, the cost of providing training and essential resources to young men is far less than to older ones.

Apart from this it also provides greater energy and agility as well as train Future General ready for War. Hence in WW1 young men were recruited for war.
