1. Sense of self-expression. This might be the most important one as greatest art comes as a result of opinions and beliefs of the artist who feels the need to express himself/herself
2. Divine or romantic inspiration. Here people want to praise either the gods/God, or a loved one
3. Commission. Which is basically someone giving you money to paint or compose something.
