in my opinion yes, because democracy is about freedom of choice right? so if someone isnt even elected the people didnt choose them and could be misrepresenting the people they are supposedly representing and helping within the government.

The Federal court have a justice system which is headed by Federal judge nominated and approved by the President and Senate respectively.

The Federal judge are been approved for lifetime to insulate them from external pressures especially from the executives.

So therefore, the unelected federal judges who serve for life are not a threat to representatives democracy, rather, it is to prevent the judges from retribution attacks from the democracy representatives.
