The book "My Introduction to Gothic Literature" is an easy-to-read essay that explains and describes the encounter of the author with Gothic literature. She explains that she first fell in love with Edgar Allan Poe's works from her grandmother reading them to her when she was still in her early teens.
Among some of the elements of Gothic literature which the author says she fancies are thunder, storms, intrigue, and many others which made her fall in love with it more and more.
The first Goth literature she said she read was "The Cask of Amontillado" which intrigued her from start to finish as she was drawn into the worlds of Montressor and Fortunato.
