I think it could be an opportunity for young people to grow so they could understand that the real world isn't just snacks and recces. The real world is not easy; therefore with kids missing out on seeing their friends in person for extended amounts of time, they can learn to become independent of their friends and do new things.
But, on the other hand, the pandemic can be extremely traumatic, giving that old people and essential workers have an increased risk of getting sick. Kids can be lonely alone with their parents and miss their friends.
