The event is called, "Pickett's Charge", ordered on July 3, the last day of the battle of Gettysberg. The flags have undergone massive changes. First and foremost, the confederate flag had three stripes, one red, one white, then red again at the end. To the upper left corner, laid a darkish black square with a circle of  7 stars. However, the Union Lines has the original 13 red and white lines (symbolizing the 13 colonies), and on the upper left corner, again, a navy square with stars.
