The Atlantic slave trade was beneficial for merchants in Europe because African slave provided labor at a price Europeans could afford, so, Africa became objects of trade. As a consequence of Atlantic slave trade, slavery was crucial for the growth in the quantity of goods made and traded. Manufactured and luxury goods from Europe such as textiles, guns gunpowder, copper kettles, mirrors, and knives were taken across to the west African coast.
