Whenever Jamia sees someone wearing traditional Middle Eastern clothing or a woman with a hijab, she gets very upset. She will cross the street to avoid them and turn down another aisle in the store to avoid them. If she accidentally comes close to someone she believes is Muslim or Middle Eastern, she gets nervous and has to leave immediately. What is Jamia experiencing

Respuesta :

Answer: d. Xenophobia

Explanation:

XENOPHOBIA is the FEAR or HATRED of people or things from other countries and/or cultures.

It sometimes overlaps with RACISM but unlike Racism which is just based on the physical characteristics of a person, Xenophobia is based on the person's origin.

Jamia is experiencing Xenophobia as she is uncomfortable due to fear or dislike of people from the Middle East and Muslims.

Xenophobia can be very destructive and in it's extreme can lead to loss of life. A good example is the RECURRENT Xenophobic attacks on foreigners in the Republic of SOUTH AFRICA by natives who believe foreigners take their jobs and bring social ills.
