Anaerobic activities involve breakdown of glucose in your body without using oxygen, these are usually high intensity activities of short duration

Explanation:

  • Anaerobic activities release a lot of energy in a short period of time. Examples of anaerobic activities could be; cardio, spinning, running, sprinting, walking, aerobic classes, dancing, skiing, and kickboxing.
  • At some point in life due to medical or non-medical reason we have to participate in such activities. I clearly remember me participating in cardio and walking activities.
  • I had to undergo a test of cardio machine running as part of a medical examination for cardiorespiratory problems. Initially looking at it I thought it can be done easily and it was to be done under examination of health care professionals.
  • When I stood on the machine and buttons were on, initially, I felt good but as and when the speed increased, which I was briefed before. I felt I cannot control my legs and want to stop now!!! Immediately thought flashed my mind... I am better doing jogging in the garden or going for walk as these thoughts occupied me mentally, by that time I was done with the test.
  • Another activity which I had to undertake forcibly was running, literally running made me gasp for breath and I had to do this because I was late to catch the bus for office. That is where I realized that this short time running literally drained me out of energy leaving me completely exhausted. And I prefer running normally as compared to it as you are not out of breath in that nor exhausted.
