1. Electric light:
The electric light was invented and developed in the 1800s by the efforts of inventors such as Thomas Edison, Joseph Wilson Swan, and Warren de la Rue. After Edison and Swan patented the first light bulbs in 1879 and 1880, mankind was Iiberated from complete reliance on daylight; also, money and jobs sprung up in many countries which made use of electric light.
2. Paper money:
Paper money made the exchange of goods and services easier, and helped create more prosperous businesses. The world could purchase goods and services with paper money, which, in reality, has no value. The use of paper money has helped many governments in times of crisis, and changed the landscape of the world’s economics.
3. The printing press:
The printing press, which was developed by Johannes Gutenberg, initially made it possible for as much as 3,600 pages to be produced per day. At a certain point, 200 million new books were produced and helped kick-start the Age of Enlightenment which spread information and prosperity beyond many borders.
4. The Bessemer Process:
The Bessemer Process, which is a process used to produce steel with molten pig iron, became one of the biggest industries on Earth, and lead to the construction of railroads, bridges, engines and skyscrapers which are symbols of prosperity.
5. The telegraph:
The telegraph lead to worldwide communication, exchange of ideas across different countries, and helped flourished many businesses by making them international, rather than only local. The ability to communicate over very long distances made great impact on governments, businesses, industries, banks, and the media.
6. The steam engine:
Without the steam engine, it would have been impossible for trains, cars, spacecraft and factories to operate and bring mankind to the level of prosperity and technological heights that have been achieved.
