Yes, face to face is better than social media. The first reason is because over social media people can take things the wrong way. Over social media, there's no tone. However, in person (face to face) people can understand you more based off of a few things: facial expression, tone, body gestures, etc. Another reason why face-to-face is better is because you can get a more genuine feeling towards someone compared to when you're talking to someone over social media.
