Which of the following factors was the most important in determining a person's social standing in Spain's American colonies?

A. The person's opinion on the Spanish caste system
B. The religion the person chose to worship
C. The length of time a person had lived in the Americas
D. The races of each of the person's parents

Respuesta :

I choose letter D. The races of each of the person's parents. Ancestry was the biggest factor in determining one’s social status in a Spanish colony.  Those who are pure Spanish that were born in Spain were the ones at the top.  The lesser your Spanish heritage the lower your standing in society.
