Well for a student (High school) socially, people can be harsh. And learning of a matter that is both dangerous and in most cases embarrassing, it can alter that individual's life entirely. Mainly because knowing that STI's are, all in all, a disease, most people would create boundaries, break ties/friendships and create a distance between this individual and themselves. Others would treat this person with disrespect. So in the end socially, it could have a big and rather harsh effect on just about anyone.
A classmate being diagnosed with an STI, and the whole school knowing will make the person withdrawn and negatively influence the social life.
What is STI?
This is referred to as se×ually transmitted infection and it is spread through se×ual contact.
The status of an individual is meant to be private and public knowledge will make the patient shy and withdrawn.
