Think about the experience of reading “How to Tell a True War Story” what stood out and/or what do you take away from it?

Respuesta :

I'm going to assume that this is from Tim O'Brian's "The Things They Carried." The thing that stood out the most for me in this chapter was that some of the most horrible things can't be talked about, because those who don't experience it won't believe that such a horrible thing can happen. I also found it interesting and fairly accurate when they say that happening-truth isn't as true as story-truth. This struck me because it shows that feelings can sometime be shown only by exasperation or imagination. It also shows that feelings are true and not to be put aside when telling a story.
